Heldergate Stables is a boarding, lesson and training facility located at the former Rockville Equestrian Center, about 15 minutes West of Short Pump, just off of Exit 167 from I-64.
At Heldergate, we are committed to providing a safe and pleasant environment for horses and riders alike. Whether you are looking for a place to board, need help with training or competition goals, or just want to learn how to ride, we can help!
We offer stall board and field board.
**UPDATE: stalls currently available as of July 15, 2017.**
Board includes the following:
-twice daily feedings of individualized nutrition program using Purina grains as a base
-twice daily basic wellness checks
-administration of any owner-provided supplements or necessary oral medications -application of topical treatments when needed
-blanket/sheet on/off during relevant seasons
-routine medical care and monitoring in the event of injury
-lay-ups and care as necessary
-access to water and run-in shelter in fields
-small turnout groups to reduce risk of injury
-storage space for tack, trunks, etc.
-large, permanent, all-weather, lighted sand and rubber footed jump arena
-full course of jumps and many extra jump options
-regulation-size permanent, all-weather sand-and-rubber footed dressage arena
-field with eight intro and beginner-novice cross-country practice fences
-constant access to hundreds of acres of trails
-knowledgeable, caring staff, trainers and instructors
-stall only: turn out/in morning and evening
-trunk space in front of stall
We also offer riding lessons by appointment, as well as horse training in various areas. Lessons are private or in pairs/trios, and they focus on getting the most from your equestrian experience through correct riding and a constantly-expanding theoretical base in horsemanship.
Our head trainer is on site during the day and evenings unless away at a scheduled event. Assistant trainer is also on site from 4-8 on weekdays and all weekend unless away with students.
